Navigating a complex funding environment
The European Union, including its Member States, is the world’s largest donor to global poverty alleviation and economic development, accounting for nearly two-thirds (some 64%) of Official Development Assistance (ODA) world-wide.
The EU funding environment for population and reproductive health has often confused professionals in the field, including both NGOs seeking funds and donors seeking to improve policy and funding co-ordination and harmonization. DSW tries to make things clearer for NGOs interested in affecting the policies and accessing the funds.
Guide to European Population Assistance Funding
The Guide provides current, consolidated and easy-to-use information on European NGO support for population assistance programmes and services in developing countries. It includes 46 funding streams from 31 European donors, including all EU Member States.
Each entry provides contact information, purpose and mission of the institutions, a review of financial information and, most importantly, detailed information about how to submit a proposal and apply for funding. The Guide online can be searched by recipient or donor country.
Tips and Tricks - How to Access European Development Co-operation Funds
Tips and Tricks is a valuable resource for grant-seekers, as it provides a source of detailed information. Each of the entries give contact information, a review of financial information and, most importantly, detailed information on how to submit a proposal and to apply for funding.
Action for Global Health - Policy Briefs
In recent years, the EU has been committed to reforming its external aid instruments according to aid effectiveness principles. These Policy Briefs are based on fact-finding visits, aiming to bring evidence and experience from developing countries to support European advocacy for global health.
What about Reproductive Health?
The guidebook What about Reproductive Health? is designed to help EC delegations to easily integrate reproductive health into their existing portfolios including general budget support and sector development programmes, but also to assist with financing proposals and agreements, calls for proposals, tenders and other documents. It is an easy to use reference and offers recommendations within existing policy and programme frameworks.
