In 2005, Denmark spent US$ 2.1 billion on official development assistance, which corresponds to 0.81% of its GNI. 64% was channelled to recipients by bilateral means while 36% was multilateral.

Funding programmes:

NGOs can apply for financial support under the following funding programmes:

Framework Agreements, funding for single projects and a Mini-Project Fund: Denmark supports Danish NGOs through Framework Agreements, funding for single projects and a Mini-Project Fund. 

Special funding pool to support innovative NGO efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS: This instrument funds Danish NGO initiatives in developing countries in the field of HIV/AIDS.
