EU News: Recommendations from the GFATM Partnership
Forum in Senegal
26 November
On the International Day for the
Elimination of Violence against Women, the EU Presidency has reaffirmed
the commitment of the European Union to the human rights of women, in time
for the sixtieth anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights on December 10. Violence and discrimination
continue to afflict women around the world, continuing their vulnerability
to injustice, particularly in domestic and conflict situations. This
declaration confirms European support for the equality and important role
of women in the development and good governance of societies. http://www.europa-eu-un.org/articles/en/article_8320_en.htm
