- In Sri Lanka, until 14.04.2008, budget: € 970,000.

European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights: To assist civil society to develop greater cohesion in working on human rights, political pluralism and democratic political participation and representation.

- In Kosovo, until 22.05.2008, budget: € 873,000.

Food Security Programme 2007: To relaunch socio-economic development through the rehabilitation of agricultural systems and basic social services.
- Central African Republic, until 15.04.2008, budget: € 4,000,000.

Strengthening the municipal sector: to support municipalities and their networks through capacity building, technical assistance in planning and exchange of experience.
- Costa Rica, until 15.05.2008, budget: € 1,000,000.

Investing In People: To promote gender equality and strengthen the capacity of civil society.
- In Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Syria and Tunisia, until 07.05.2008, budget: € 6,808,900.

Programme for local initiatives and civil society (PRIL): To strengthen institutional capacity of NGOs and national platforms, improve dialogue between NGOs and local authorities.
- Dominican Republic: until 17/03/2008, budget: DOP 59,300,000.

EU News: DSW presents poster at the Microbicides 2008 Conference in Delhi

24-27th February
For the first time this yearly conference - in which researchers and advocates from all over the world participate - includes a special track on advocacy. DSW successfully presented a poster on EU advocacy on Microbicides that was made in cooperation with the Global Campaign for Microbicides.

EU News: DSW actively participates in the Cotonou Aid Working Group of Concord

15-20th March
As a member of the taskforce on the Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA) that will take place in Lublijana (date above), DSW prepared this meeting by gathering information on the regional strategy papers (RSP) that are currently being drafted. Through DSW's contact with several members of the European Parliament, we were able to prepare them for questions on RSP to be asked to the European Commission.http://www.acpsec.org/en/jpa.ht

Upcoming Events: European Parliament Working Group on Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS and Development roundtable discussion

4th March
The European Parliament Working Group on Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS and Development will have the first roundtable discussion of the year entitled, “Abstinence: the Politics of Denial”, hosted by MEP Anne Van Lancker. The main aim of the conference is to provide a platform for debate on different approaches in the sector of HIV/AIDS prevention and to discuss the existing links between SRHR (including supplies) and HIV/AIDS.
